At Open Arms Shelter, monetary donations, memorials and honorariums are always accepted and appreciated. In addition, each year special events are held to raise funds or to increase community awareness.
Events to benefit Open Arms in 2008:
July 26-27, 2008
- On July 26th and 27th, the fourth annual Avenue of Dreams will be held in Cabot, Arkansas. This event is a two-day home show sponsored by the Cabot Area Home Builders Association. Tickets are $10 and will go on sale soon. Hours for the event will be from 10AM to 7PM on Saturday, July 26th and from 11AM to 6PM on Sunday, July 27th. Fifty percent of all ticket sales will benefit the Open Arms Shelter.
Annual BBQ Supper and Auction - August 5th, 2008
On Tuesday, August 5th, please join us for our annual BBQ Supper and Auction to be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Primary School in Lonoke, Arkansas. This year's event promises to be one of the best ever, with live music and a "kids corner". Look for a complete list of silent and live auction items to be published in our July newsletter. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
Special Program to Aid in the Purchase of Trees
Donations are being accepted to purchase shade trees for the children of Open Arms. Large oak trees are $300, medium trees are $200 and small trees are $100. These prices include the cost of an aluminum placard, inscribed with your message, which will be placed at the base of each tree. Trees can be purchased in honor or in memory of a loved one.
